Service Description

Approximately one third of all work related injuries are due to incorrect manual handling. A major contributor factor is the lack of proper training, supervision, information and instruction. this one day course is to assist candidates in identifying situations where manual handling techniques are absolutely necessary. It provides the skills and knowledge required to perform manual lifting and handling operations competently and safely. On completion of the course, candidates will be able to identify and carry out: - Correct lifting procedures - Avoid injuries and be safe - The importance of a safe handling procedure - Facts and figures of manual handling injuries - Key legislation - avoid, assess and reduce injury - Risk assessments
